How many players can play co-op together?
Cooperative multiplayer parties hold a maximum of four players, who can explore the open world, solve puzzles and fight bosses together.
All four members must be on the same regional server to form an Aniimo party. Cross-platform play supports PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices in the same session, provided every player selected the same region: Aniimo-America, Aniimo-Europe, or Aniimo-APAC.
Multiplayer is activity-based and invite-only rather than a persistently shared open world. Other players will not populate the continent of Idyll unless invited into the host's world. Shared public hubs like outposts, campfires, RV campsites, and the floating sky city of Astra allow players to see one another and interact. Pressing the F key or tapping another player's avatar opens their interaction menu directly to send an invite.
Party activities and solo restrictions
A group can explore the open world, trade Aniimo, and take on Alpha Aniimo and large world bosses designed for teams. Downed players can be revived by teammates during matches, and the integrated photo mode supports full-team shots. Two players in a party can also activate Companion Mode without standing next to each other, which projects a visible link showing the distance between them so they do not drift apart during travel.
The main story campaign cannot be played in a group. Aniimo requires you to progress the primary narrative alone, and the majority of content can be finished in single-player mode without ever inviting another player. Four-player co-op and the Egg Heist PvPvE mode exist as optional extras.
Not settled: Sanctum puzzle mini-dungeons are tied to world progression, but their exact group requirements remain unsettled: they are described both as cooperative dungeons requiring teamwork and as having solo, partner-required, and timed variants.
