Are Helion and Lunara still good in the endgame?

Helion and Lunara carry you through the story and into week-one endgame. Here is why the 30% final-damage passive keeps them ahead of Blazen.

The short version

  1. Helion and Lunara hold up for the whole game: main DPS through the story, then mid-game, late-game and week-one endgame content.
  2. Helion vs Lunara is not a power question. Both have ATK 116 and 514 total base stats, the same Light element and the same 30% final-damage passive.
  3. The passive raises final damage by 30% when the starter attacks without an elemental advantage, so it pays off in fights where you have no type edge.
  4. Blazen hits less hard than Helion, with a relatively low attack stat and less Might.
  5. Lunara's safer, longer-ranged play costs her no DPS compared with Helion.

Starters in creature-collecting games are often a crutch you drop by the midpoint. Aniimo's are not. Helion and Lunara stay useful all the way through, working as your main damage dealer for the whole story and still pulling their weight in mid-game, late-game and week-one endgame content.

That changes the usual question. You do not need to plan a replacement for whichever one you picked. What is worth knowing is why they last, and how they stack up against the other attackers you will be tempted to swap in.

Do Helion and Lunara hold up in the endgame?

Yes. Your starter can stay your main DPS for the whole story, and it does not fall off once the credits roll. Mid-game, late-game and week-one endgame content are all within reach of either one.

That makes the starter a safe place to put your early investment. Whatever you spend on it is not wasted when the harder content arrives.

Helion vs Lunara: the same numbers in different hands

Helion
Helion

If you are asking whether Helion or Lunara is better, the stats will not settle it. Their base stats are identical in every category: ATK 116, 514 total. They share the same element, Light (also called Holy), so neither carries an elemental weakness the other does not. They fill the same combat role and have the same passive.

What differs is play style and appearance. Lunara plays a safer, longer-ranged pattern, and that comes at no cost to her damage. She is a free, pure damage-dealing DPS, exactly as Helion is. The full choice between them has its own guide on this site; for endgame purposes, either is fine.

Lunara is a free Light element DPS starter with ATK 116 and 514 total base stats, the same as Helion. Its safer, longer ranged play pattern costs no DPS.

The 30% passive and why it carries them late

Both starters have a passive that increases their final damage by 30% when they attack without an elemental advantage. That is the reason they keep up.

Most attackers lean on hitting the right weakness. The starters get a bonus precisely when they do not have one, which means a fight where you have no type edge is not a fight where your main damage dealer goes soft. In the endgame, where you cannot always bring a perfect counter, that is the kind of bonus that keeps a starter in the team.

30%

Final damage bonus from the starter passive

Helion and Lunara both gain it when attacking without an elemental advantage, so they keep dealing damage even into matchups that do not favour them.

How they compare to Blazen

Blazen
Blazen

Blazen is the obvious alternative many players look at for raw damage, but its attack stat is relatively low. It has less Might than Helion.

Put that next to the starters' passive and the comparison leans their way. Helion and Lunara start from a higher attack stat and add a final-damage bonus on top whenever they lack an elemental edge. Blazen has neither advantage over them on these numbers.

Where to start

Keep your starter as your main DPS and invest in it without worrying about a late-game replacement. Pick Helion or Lunara for how you like to play, since the numbers are the same, and do not drop either for Blazen on attack grounds.
