Co-op rewards in Aniimo: shared chests, loot and drops

Egg Heist eggs go to every teammate's mailbox, and a chest one player opens pays out to friends standing nearby. Here is what each kind of co-op earns you.

The short version

  1. In an Egg Heist match, every egg any teammate loots or extracts is shared with the whole party, and you have to collect it from your in-game mailbox afterwards.
  2. In co-op, a treasure chest one player opens also rewards nearby players who have not opened it yet.
  3. In companion mode, a rare resource gathered by one player is shared with everyone in the party.
  4. Visiting a friend's world lets you catch weather-variant Aniimo whose weather is active there, and tilling soil on their home plot gives harvested resources and a chest.
  5. The Sparkelf event runs a global community path of milestones, and every node rewards all players with cosmetics.

Playing Aniimo with other people gets you more than company. Several systems pay out to the whole group: eggs from an Egg Heist, chests opened in co-op, rare resources gathered in companion mode. Others only work when you go to someone else's world or home plot.

This guide covers each one in turn. It starts with the Egg Heist, because that is where most of the eggs come from and where the one easy mistake lives, and finishes with the Sparkelf event, which rewards every player at once whether you play together or not.

Egg Heist: how the eggs are shared

In an Egg Heist match, all eggs looted or extracted by any teammate are shared with every party member. It does not matter who grabbed an egg or who got it out. If a teammate extracts it, you get it too.

The catch is delivery. The eggs do not drop straight into your collection. Each member receives them in their in-game mailbox after the match, and you have to collect them there. If you queue straight into another match and never open the mailbox, the eggs are sitting there waiting for you, not in your hands.

Which means the usual worry about who gets the loot does not apply. Split up, cover more ground, and let whoever is closest to an egg take it.

Shared chests and rare resources

Outside the heist, two smaller systems stop you competing with your friends over pickups.

In co-op, when one player opens a treasure chest, nearby players who have not opened it yet are rewarded as well. Stay close when someone finds a chest. Being nearby is the condition, so a friend on the far side of the map misses out.

In companion mode, a rare resource gathered by one player is shared with everyone in the party. There is no point racing each other to a rare node; one of you gathering it is enough.

Bosses and team fights

Boss encounters can be fought cooperatively with other players in co-op multiplayer. That covers world bosses and Alpha Aniimo bosses, so the hardest fights in the open world are also ones you can bring friends to.

Team matches also let teammates revive downed players. Going down is not the end of your fight if someone gets to you, and that makes a party more forgiving than playing alone.

Visiting a friend's world and home

Some rewards only exist in another player's space. You can visit a friend's world to catch weather-variant Aniimo whose weather is active there. If the weather you need is not running in your own world, a friend's world where it is active gives you the chance.

You can also visit other players' homes. Open your friends list and use the shovel icon next to a friend's name to reach their home plot. Tilling soil there gives you rewards, including harvested resources and a chest.

Blooms work on the same principle. Nurturing and participating in another player's bloom shares and increases regional prismatic energy, so helping a friend's bloom along is not wasted effort for either of you.

The Sparkelf community path

The Sparkelf event has a global community path of milestones that all players work toward together. Every node on that path rewards everyone with cosmetics.

This is the widest form of co-op in the game. You do not need a party for it. Every player's progress counts toward the same path, and every player gets the cosmetics when a node is reached.

Where to start

If you play with friends, run Egg Heists together and remember to empty your mailbox after every match. Stick close when someone opens a chest, and use companion mode for rare resources. When your own weather is wrong for a catch, visit a friend's world where it is active, and till their home plot while you are there.
