Farming a friend's Homeland: harvest shares and farm chests

Use the shovel icon in your friends list to reach their plot. Tilling and harvesting there gets you a share of their crops, and 15 gathers earn a farm chest the next day.

The short version

  1. The fastest way onto a friend's home plot is the shovel icon next to their name in your friends list. Co-op invites also get you in.
  2. When you till or harvest soil at a friend's home, you get a portion of their crop harvest. You don't have to plant anything yourself.
  3. Gathering from trees or soil on other players' farms 15 times earns a farm chest. It appears at the front of your home plot the next day, not straight away.
  4. Visiting a friend's home also raises your friendship level (affinity) with them, so the trip is worth making even when there's little to harvest.

Your Homeland isn't the only farm you can work. Aniimo lets you walk onto a friend's home plot, work their soil and keep some of what comes out of the ground. You get a share of their crops, extra rewards for tilling, and a farm chest once you've gathered enough across other people's farms.

This guide covers how to reach a friend's plot, what each kind of work there pays, and how the 15 gather farm chest works, including the delay that catches people out.

Getting onto a friend's home plot

Every Pathfinder has a personal RV that works as their homeland base, and its portal leads to their outdoor homeland zone. Unlocking and upgrading the RV has its own guide on this site. What matters here is that every friend you have owns a plot you can visit.

The quickest way in is the friends list. Next to each friend's name is a shovel icon, and selecting it takes you to their home plot. The icon tells you what the visit is for: you're there to dig.

Co-op is the other route. You can enter other players' personal home plots through co-op invites, and you can invite friends into your own world so you visit each other's Homelands in turn. If you're already playing together, an invite is the natural way over. If you're alone and just want to work a friend's soil, use the shovel.

Tilling and harvesting: your share of their crops

On a friend's plot you can till soil or harvest it. Either one gets you a portion of that player's crop harvest. Your friend did the planting and you collect part of the result. That makes a round of visits a cheap source of crops when your own fields are between harvests.

Tilling pays more than crops alone. Tilling soil on another player's plot gives you rewards that include harvested resources and a chest. So you aren't just helping out. Tilling is how you get paid on someone else's land, and it's worth doing on every visit.

The 15 gather farm chest

Separately from the per-visit rewards, there's a counter. Gather from trees or soil on other players' farms 15 times and you earn a farm chest. Both trees and soil count, so you can mix them.

The chest doesn't appear on the spot. It shows up at the front of your home plot the next day. If you finish your gathers and see nothing, that's expected. Check the front of your plot when you next log in.

The counter covers other players' farms, plural, so you don't have to finish all 15 on one plot. If one friend's farm runs dry, move on to the next and keep counting.

Other reasons to visit

Each visit to a friend's home raises your friendship level (affinity) with them. A short trip to till a few patches does that and earns crops in the same go.

Visits are also a good way to see how other people have built their homes. Homeland housing and furniture group layouts can be shared with layout codes, so if a friend's arrangement catches your eye, ask for the code instead of rebuilding it piece by piece.

Back on your own plot, the Home Management interface has direct shortcuts to the Home Shop and the Co-op Store. Spending in those shops, and earning Bud Tickets in the Homeland, are covered in their own guide on this site.

Where to start

Make visiting friends' farms part of your routine. Use the shovel icon in your friends list, till and harvest on every plot you visit, and keep count of your gathers across farms. After 15, check the front of your home plot the next day for the farm chest. The visits also raise affinity with those friends.
