Holo Battle Interlink: Routes, Star Ranks and Rewards

Every route keeps its own best star rank, but milestone rewards count your total across all three. Here is when it runs and why an AI team costs you rewards.

The short version

  1. Holo Battle Interlink runs every week from Thursday at 4:00 to Monday at 3:59 UTC+8, and its weekly prizes reset each week.
  2. Each of the three routes records its own highest star rank, while milestone rewards unlock from the combined star total across all three routes.
  3. Support rewards pay you for helping other players raise their star ranks, scaled to the highest rank gain achieved.
  4. You can fill open slots with AI teammates, but running it solo with AI means lower damage and fewer rewards than a real team.
  5. Bosses are very tanky, so the mode is a tight DPS check, and you can pick team buffs before each encounter.

Holo Battle Interlink is the weekly endgame boss mode. It has three routes, each with its own bosses and environment, and it rewards you on two tracks: your own star ranks, and how much you help other players raise theirs.

It opened in the second week after launch, on a Thursday, and it has run on a fixed weekly window since. If you are building up Aniimo for the long haul, it is one of the places your nurture materials come from.

This guide covers when the mode is open, what makes the routes hard, how star ranks turn into rewards, and why the team you bring matters more than it first appears.

The weekly window

Holo Battle Interlink is open from Thursday at 4:00 to Monday at 3:59 UTC+8, every week. Outside that window you cannot run it, so plan your attempts around the long weekend it covers rather than leaving them for a Tuesday.

The weekly prizes reset each week. Whatever you earned last week does not carry over into this week's reward track, which means the mode is something you come back to, not something you clear once.

Three routes, three different fights

Each route has its own Alpha encounters and its own environmental mechanics. A team that handles one route comfortably is not guaranteed to handle the next, because the conditions change along with the boss.

What stays the same is the bosses' durability. They are very tanky, and that makes the mode a tight DPS check. Damage output is the thing that decides most runs.

Before you start an encounter you can select team buffs. Given how much rides on damage, treat that choice as part of the fight rather than a menu to click through.

How star ranks become rewards

Every route records its own highest star rank, independently of the other two. A strong result on one route does not overwrite or lift your record on another.

Milestone rewards work differently. They unlock when the combined star total across all three routes reaches each milestone. So the routes are scored separately but paid out together, and the practical result is that a route you have been neglecting is often the cheapest place to find more stars.

The weekly prizes sit on two tracks. Star rank rewards are set by your own battle rank. Support rewards come from helping other players raise their star ranks, and they are scaled to the highest rank gain achieved. Joining someone else's run is not charity; it pays.

Four players or AI teammates

The mode supports four-player cooperative teams. You can go in with a group, or deploy with AI teammates filling any open slots. AI teammates are available across Battle Interlink modes generally, including Pathfinder challenge rematches.

The catch is that playing Holo Battle Interlink solo with AI produces lower damage output and fewer rewards than playing in a team. In a mode built as a tight DPS check, that damage gap hurts twice: it makes higher star ranks harder to reach, and the rewards are smaller on top of that. AI is fine for filling a gap. A full human team is the better way to push ranks.

Who fills your Holo Battle Interlink team

Four player team

  • Cooperative team of four players
  • Higher damage output than a solo run with AI
  • More rewards than a solo run with AI

Solo with AI teammates

  • AI fills any open slots
  • Lower damage output against very tanky bosses
  • Fewer rewards than playing in a team

What you take home

Holo Battle Interlink awards Windborn stamps, as does Hollow Battle Sim. Holo Battle more broadly grants Training EXP, XP and Glimmer.

It is also one of the sources of Nurture shards, alongside the weekly stamp shop, Elite Training, the nurture branch, catch completion rewards and Joff at the outpost. And it is one of the places Vein Essence comes from, together with open-world gathering, Elite Training, catch milestones, Nurture Branches, the battle pass, the stamp shop and contributing Lumin.

Leaderboards are planned for the mode and expected in October. Until they arrive, your star ranks and the weekly reward track are the measure of how you are doing.

Where to start

Each week, run all three routes, because milestones count your combined stars. Pick your team buffs with damage in mind. Find a group when you can, since solo with AI costs you damage and rewards, and other players' runs pay out support rewards. Get it done before Monday at 3:59 UTC+8.
