How Lucky Strikes Work in Aniimo
A Lucky Strike is a bonus event that fires while you are catching an Aniimo. It pays out in items, it charges the ground around you with prismic energy, and it can kick off a Prismana Flow on the spot.
The short version
- Lucky Strikes trigger during a catch, not from a menu or a separate activity
- A Lucky Strike rewards you with items
- It also raises prismic energy in the surrounding area
- There is a chance a Lucky Strike immediately starts a Prismana Flow
- Because all three payoffs hang off the catch, catching often is how you see them
Catching in Aniimo is not only about the creature you walk away with. A catch can trigger an event called a Lucky Strike, and when it does, the catch pays you a second time.
There are three things a Lucky Strike can do. It rewards items. It raises the prismic energy in the area around you. And it has a chance to immediately trigger a Prismana Flow.
None of that has a separate button. You get it by catching Aniimo, which is the point worth holding onto before any of the details.
Lucky Strikes happen inside the catch
A Lucky Strike is an event, not a mode and not a location. It can happen when you catch an Aniimo, and that is where it lives: during the catch, attached to the catch, resolving as part of it.
So the way to see Lucky Strikes is to keep catching. Every catch is a roll at one. That reframes what a catch is worth to you. The creature is the obvious prize, and the Lucky Strike is the reason a catch you did not strictly need can still turn into something.
The item reward
The most direct payoff is items. Trigger a Lucky Strike while catching, and you are rewarded with them.
This is the part that makes routine catching pay. You are going to catch Aniimo anyway while you explore, and any one of those catches can hand you items on top of the creature. Nothing extra is asked of you for it. The catch is the trigger, and the items follow from the catch.
Prismic energy in the surrounding area
A Lucky Strike also raises the prismic energy in the area around you. That effect is local. It applies to where you are standing and what is near you, not to the world at large, which means a Lucky Strike leaves the ground you are on in a better state than it was before.
On top of that, a Lucky Strike has a chance to immediately trigger a Prismana Flow. Prismana Flow has its own guide on this site, so the short version is enough here: the Lucky Strike is one of the things that can start one, and it can do so instantly rather than after a wait.
Put the two together and a Lucky Strike is worth more than its item drop. It charges the area, and it can tip that area straight into a Flow.
Where to start
Treat Lucky Strikes as a reason to catch rather than a thing to chase. Catch what you find, and the items, the energy in the area and the occasional Prismana Flow arrive on their own.
