Farming Prismana without Vein Essence via catches

Every successful catch in a region fills its prismatic bar, and a full bar guarantees a Prismana. How to fill it with cheap pods, Lucky Strikes and mass surges.

The short version

  1. When a region's prismatic energy gauge is full, a Prismana Aniimo is guaranteed to appear there, and you can fill that gauge with catches alone, without spending any Vein Essence.
  2. Only successful captures raise the chance of a Prismana. Pods you throw and miss count for nothing, and you have no other way to lure one.
  3. Lucky and Super Lucky catches (Lucky Strikes) add bonus prismatic energy, and a Super Lucky catch can push a nearly empty bar to maximum.
  4. The cheapest Anipods are enough. Regular ones get you more lucky catches per coin than Pro or Mega pods.
  5. Spend your nurturing attempts or bonus first, then farm catches in the mass surge. Joining friends' wild surges fills your bar faster than playing solo.

Vein Essence is scarce. It is hard to get and it runs out quickly, so every point you spend on blooming a Prismana is a point you don't have for anything else. You can avoid spending it on Prismana at all.

Catching wild Aniimo fills the same prismatic energy that nurturing does. When the bar is full, a Prismana Aniimo is guaranteed to appear. The Tubster Prismana farming method and mass-surge farming both work on this rule. They need few resources and no Vein Essence, only time and a stack of cheap pods.

How to get a Prismana in Aniimo without Vein Essence

Each region has its own Prismana energy bar, which some menus call the Bloom bar. Catching any wild Aniimo inside a Prismana's spawn region raises that region's prismatic energy. This counts toward bloom progress in the Nurture Bloom even if you have no Prismana Crystals. Catching wild Aniimo also sends Vein Essence, or experience, to the Bloom's giant tree vein. So when you farm catches, you are feeding the Bloom rather than drawing from your own Essence.

The gauge works as a pity meter. Once it is full, a Prismana Aniimo is guaranteed to appear. Nothing else lures one. Only catching Aniimo again and again raises the chance, and only successful captures count. Pods you throw that don't land a catch do nothing for the bar, so a long fight with one stubborn creature is worth less than a quick string of easy catches.

The same applies to event Prismana. You can get the event Prismana without spending any Vein Essence by farming lucky catches to raise prismatic energy, as an alternative to nurturing.

Why the bar fills slowly, and what speeds it up

Filling the bar with catches alone is slow. Outbreak catching takes an hour or more, so plan for a proper session rather than a few spare minutes.

Two things help. First, finish the area. Reaching full (gold) completion in an area makes Prismana energy build up faster there, which means the regions you have already finished are the cheapest places to farm. Second, don't farm alone if you can help it. Joining friends' wild surges boosts your own world energy for that region, so you reach a Prismana inflow faster than you would solo.

An hour or more

Outbreak catching to fill the bar

Filling the prismatic energy bar through catches alone is slow, so plan for a long session or lean on Lucky Strikes and gold completion to speed it up.

Lucky Strikes: what they add to prismatic energy

A Lucky or Super Lucky catch, also called a Lucky Strike, can happen during a capture or during Nurture. Either way it generates extra Prismatic Energy for the region where it happened and counts toward bloom nurturing, so an Aniimo can bloom without Vein Essences. Lucky and Super Lucky results during Prismana flow nurtures and event catches both add extra progress.

Super Lucky is the big one. A Super Lucky catch can fill the Prismana Flow to maximum from very low and skip the Prismana grind entirely. Whether every Lucky Strike fills the bar completely is not settled yet. Sometimes it fills the bloom bar to maximum right away so the regional Prismana spawns at once. Other times the energy is left just short of full. Treat a Lucky Strike as a large jump, and be pleasantly surprised if it finishes the job.

Lucky Strikes connect to nurturing too. Capturing Aniimo during nurturing triggers Lucky Strikes more often than defeating them does, so a lot of the nurturing process can be skipped. If you have a choice between catching and knocking out, catch.

Which pods to use and in what order

Prismana farming only needs the cheapest Anipods. Regular Anipods are enough for outbreak catches and get more lucky catches per coin than Pro or Mega pods, so expensive pods are the worse buy here. Lower-grade Anipods also earn a special currency in a repeatable event, so the cheap pods pay you back a second way.

Order matters. Use your nurturing attempts or bonus first, then farm catches in the mass surge. Mass-surging Aniimo during Vein Abundance count toward the region's Prismana bar like any other catch, and surges are dense enough to keep a steady run of captures going. The surge system has its own guide on this site. For this purpose, all you need to know is that every surge catch, and every Lucky catch within one, fills the bar for the region you are standing in.

Where to start

Pick a region where you have gold completion, use your nurturing attempts first, then work through a mass surge with regular Anipods, with friends if you can. Catch rather than defeat, keep the Vein Essence you save for things that need it, and let the full bar spawn the Prismana for you.
