How to get a Sparkling Aniimo: marks, eggs and badges

Four ways in: wild spawns, eggs, the Departure of the Wind pod and Sparkling Marks. Only one guarantees perfect innate potential, and evolving never removes the shine.

The short version

  1. The Departure of the Wind premium legendary Anipod guarantees a Sparkling catch with perfect innate potential. It is the only route that promises both.
  2. The Wind Chaser badge's first stage raises open-world Sparkling spawns by about 50%, to roughly 1 in 13,000. Whether that covers the whole map or only Breezy Plains is not settled.
  3. Eggs can hatch Sparkling Aniimo, and that includes rare eggs you find in the wild.
  4. Sparkling Marks turn an Aniimo you already own into a Sparkling variant for 10 sparklings, and a Sparkling Cube or Sparkle Pigment does the same job.
  5. A Sparkling Aniimo stays Sparkling when it evolves, so you can convert or catch the early form without losing anything.

Sparkling is Aniimo's rare shiny variant. You can tell one at a glance: it glows and shimmers with a coloured outline, and it comes in alternate skin palettes, some of them rainbow designs with diamond, pearlescent and particle effects.

You can get one four ways. You can find it in the wild, hatch it from an egg, catch it with the Departure of the Wind pod, or convert an Aniimo you already own. Each route costs you something different, and only one comes with a guarantee. This page walks through all four, then covers what happens when a Sparkling evolves.

Departure of the Wind: the guaranteed Sparkling

If you want certainty, start here. The Wind Chaser's Departure is a premium legendary Anipod, also called Departure of the Wind. Every Aniimo caught with it carries exclusive seasonal perks. It is guaranteed to appear in Sparkling form, and it is guaranteed to have perfect innate potential.

That second perk matters. Every other route on this page gets you the colour. This is the only one that also promises a perfect roll underneath it. If you are asking whether a Sparkling is perfect, the Departure pod is the one case where the answer is yes by design.

The catch is in the name. It is a premium pod and its perks are seasonal, so treat it as a limited tool rather than something you can lean on forever.

Finding one in the wild with the Wind Chaser badge

Sparkling Aniimo spawn in the open world, but rarely. The Wind Chaser badge improves your odds. Its first stage raises open-world Sparkling and Umbral spawn rates by about 50%, which puts Sparkling at roughly 1 in 13,000 and Umbral at roughly 1 in 2,000.

One thing is not settled yet: whether the bonus applies across the whole map or only in Breezy Plains. If you are hunting with the badge, Breezy Plains is the safe place to do it, because the boost applies there under either reading.

Even boosted, 1 in 13,000 is a long hunt. The badge makes wild hunting less punishing. It does not make it quick.

Sparkling odds with Wind Chaser stage one

The badge's first stage raises Sparkling spawns by about 50%, but whether the bonus covers the whole map or only Breezy Plains is unsettled.

Sparkling eggs

Hatching is the other natural route. Sparkling Aniimo can come out of eggs, including the rare eggs you find in the wild. That makes every wild egg worth picking up, since any of them can be the one that hatches Sparkling.

Nothing about a Sparkling hatch promises perfect innate potential. That guarantee belongs to the Departure pod alone.

Sparkling Marks and other ways to convert an Aniimo you own

You do not have to catch a Sparkling at all. You can make one. Apply Sparkling Marks to an Aniimo you already own and it becomes a Sparkling variant, at a cost of 10 sparklings.

A standard Aniimo can also be made Sparkling after capture with a sparkling item, either a Sparkling Cube or Sparkle Pigment. Cubes have their own page on this site, so the short version is enough here: if you own the Aniimo you want and have the materials, conversion beats waiting for the spawn.

This is the route to use when the creature you care about already has the stats you want. You keep the Aniimo and add the shine, rather than gambling on a new one.

Paying this turns an Aniimo you already own into a Sparkling variant without hunting for a wild spawn.

Evolution, Prismana and the rarest combinations

A Sparkling Aniimo stays Sparkling when it evolves. You never have to wait for the final form before converting or hunting. Catch or mark the early stage and the shine carries through.

Do not mix Sparkling up with Prismana. The basic Prismana form is a separate category from shiny or Sparkling variants, so a Prismana is not a Sparkling and a Sparkling is not a Prismana.

The two can stack. An Alpha Sparkling Prismana is one of the rarest combinations in the game, and you do not find it as a natural encounter. You build it in stages.

Where to start

If you want a Sparkling with perfect innate potential, use a Departure of the Wind pod. If you already own the Aniimo you want, convert it with Sparkling Marks, a Sparkling Cube or Sparkle Pigment. Otherwise, pick up every wild egg and hunt in Breezy Plains with the Wind Chaser badge. Evolution keeps the shine, so you can convert at any stage.
