Lightning Combat Guide: Fulmintis, Fenmane and Luminelle
Fenmane hits from range and stacks Thunder Bound; Fulmintis wins on crits. Here is how Luminel's 25% lightning buff ties them together, and where to catch Wisptis.
The short version
- Fenmane is a ranged attacker, and 30 Thunder Bound stacks from its lightning attacks put it into its Thunder Wing stance.
- Fulmintis is built around critical hits and builds focus when it crits. Its role is not settled: it plays both as the main lightning damage dealer and as a lightning tank.
- Luminel's passive gives buffed allies 25% increased lightning damage, so it does the most for a team whose damage is lightning.
- You can't catch Fulmintis in the wild. Catch Wisptis in Barrowline Valley near cluster bush trees, or in the Mistwoods below it, and catch two, because Wisptis branches into either Ignitis or Fulmintis.
- Prismana Fulmintis has a double weakness to Dark that the base form doesn't have.
A lightning team in Aniimo comes down to two things. You need damage dealers that build stacks while they hit, and you need a support that makes every one of those hits land harder. Fulmintis and Fenmane do the first job. Luminel does the second.

Fenmane vs Fulmintis
These two don't do the same job, even though both deal lightning damage.
Fenmane is a ranged attacker. It works on stacks: its lightning attacks build Thunder Bound, and at 30 stacks it enters its Thunder Wing stance. A Fenmane that keeps attacking gets stronger, and one that keeps getting interrupted never reaches Thunder Wing.
Fulmintis is built around critical hits and builds focus whenever it crits. Its role is not settled. It is described as a lightning DPS, the main damage dealer of a lightning team, and also as a lightning tank. In practice that leaves you room to choose. Build it to crit and carry your damage, or put it at the front and let Fenmane handle damage from range.
If you only have room for one, the question is what your team lacks. Fenmane gives you damage from a distance that ramps up over a fight. Fulmintis gives you crit-driven damage, or a lightning body that can take hits.
Fenmane
- Works as a ranged attacker.

- Enters its Thunder Wing stance at 30 Thunder Bound stacks.
Fulmintis
- Built around critical hits and builds focus when it crits.
- Its role is unsettled: lightning DPS or lightning tank.
- Cannot be caught in the wild. You get it by evolving Wisptis.
How lightning stacks pay off
Both attackers reward you for staying on the target. Fenmane's 30 Thunder Bound stacks come only from lightning attacks, so swapping it onto other attacks slows the trip to Thunder Wing. Fulmintis only builds focus when it crits, so anything that keeps it landing crits also keeps its focus climbing.
Lightning Blade Storm works the same way inside a single skill. Every three consecutive hits you land during it increase the final spinning slash's damage by 100%. The important word is consecutive. Keep the chain going and the finishing slash is where the damage lands; break it early and you lose the bonus.

Luminel, Dazmand and the support slot
Aniimo has three Electric-type Support Aniimo: Luminel, Dazmand and Besauce.
Luminel is the one a lightning team is built around. Its passive talent gives buffed allies 25% increased lightning damage. That buff only helps lightning hits. So it does the most next to Fenmane, whose stacks come from lightning attacks, and Fulmintis, a lightning damage dealer. On a team that mostly deals other elements, most of that passive goes to waste.
Dazmand and Besauce share Luminel's type and support role. Take them when you want a second Electric support beside Luminel, or when Luminel isn't available yet.

Getting Fulmintis: catch Wisptis twice
Fulmintis can't currently be encountered or captured in the wild. You get it by evolving a captured pre-evolution, and that pre-evolution is Wisptis.
Wisptis spawns in Barrowline Valley near cluster bush trees, and in the Mistwoods area below it. Its evolution branches into either Ignitis or Fulmintis. A single Wisptis only gets you one of the two, so catch two and you can have both.

Prismana Fulmintis and other lightning options
Prismana Fulmintis isn't just a recolour. It has a double weakness to Dark, which the base Fulmintis form doesn't have. If you run the Prismana form as your main damage dealer or your tank, Dark attackers are a bigger threat to it than to a standard Fulmintis. Plan your swaps around that.
If you want more lightning damage beyond these two, look at Scorchhowl. Its Thunderstorm Form adds the Lightning element alongside Fire and gives it Lightning attacks, which its base Fire form lacks. That Thunderstorm Form can use the Luminel buff in a way base Scorchhowl can't.
Where to start
Go to Barrowline Valley and catch two Wisptis so you can have both Fulmintis and Ignitis. Put Luminel on any team that deals lightning damage. Then pick your attacker by role: Fenmane for damage from range that builds through Thunder Bound, Fulmintis for crits or as a front-line lightning tank. If you run Prismana Fulmintis, keep it away from Dark attackers.
