Memory: The Faded Rainbow weekly Irisalis Petal fight
Two clears per reset, three Irisalis Petals each, six at most. What you lose by skipping a reset, and why the reset timer itself is not settled yet.
The short version
- Memory: The Faded Rainbow can be cleared only twice per reset, and each clear awards 3 Irisalis Petals directly, for up to 6 toward the legendary Aniimo.
- Petals you do not claim before the reset passes are lost, so a skipped reset is petals you never get back.
- The reset period is not settled: it is given both as weekly on Monday at 4:00 a.m. and as every 3 days.
- The investigation boss is harder than the Irisalis capture fight itself, so this refight is the tougher of the two.
- The Faded Rainbow is one limited source among several, alongside the Stamp Shop at 50 Windborne Stamps per petal and permanent sources such as Branch Nurturing.
If you want Irisalis, the legendary Aniimo at the centre of the Irisalis Prismana event, you need Irisalis Petals, which the game also calls Iris Petals. One of the steadiest ways to get them is Memory: The Faded Rainbow, a weekly-rotation investigation that has you refight the legendary for petals.
It is generous per clear and strict about everything else. You get a small number of runs, a fixed payout per run, and nothing carries over if you miss the window. This page covers how to start it, what it pays, where its limits sit, and how it fits next to the other petal sources.
How to start the Faded Rainbow refight
Memory: The Faded Rainbow arrived with Version 1.1 as a weekly limited source of Iris Petals, and it unlocks once the Irisalis Prismana event starts. You will not find it before then.
To begin, open the Weekly Rotation tab and select the faded rainbow. The investigation itself is entered through a Vein Rift. It is an energy-costing fight, so each attempt draws on the same energy you spend elsewhere.
Expect a real fight. The boss here is harder than the Irisalis capture fight you face later, which is not difficult. If you can clear the Faded Rainbow, the capture itself should not worry you.
Two clears, three petals each
The limit is the part that matters. You can complete the Faded Rainbow only twice per reset. Each clear awards 3 petals directly, for up to 6 per reset toward the legendary Aniimo.
There is no banking. Rewards you have not claimed are lost when the reset passes. That makes this a source you either use every cycle or lose for good, because a missed reset is not something you can make up later with extra clears.
The same logic runs through the event as a whole. Petals come from tasks, including the weekly rotation tasks and a permanent task subsection, and your petal income is gated by the weekly reset. The weekly rotating Irisalis blossom tasks reset once at the end of each week.

When the Faded Rainbow resets
This is not settled yet. The reset period for the Faded Rainbow is given both as weekly, on Monday at 4:00 a.m., and as every 3 days.
The practical answer is the same either way. Clear it twice as soon as it is available, and do not leave a clear sitting unclaimed on the assumption that you have time. If the reset turns out to be the shorter one, waiting costs you a whole window of petals.
Where the refight sits among other petal sources
The Faded Rainbow is one source, not the whole route to Irisalis. How you get Irisalis overall, and how capturing a legendary works, have their own guides on this site; this section only places the refight among its neighbours.
The event's Stamp Shop sells Irisalis Prismana Petals for 50 Windborne Stamps each on a weekly rotation. The option is not clearly labelled, so look carefully. How many you can buy per week is unsettled: it is given as up to four petals or feathers per week, as up to 50 petals per week, and as random.
Where most petals come from is also unsettled. One picture has them arriving as permanent rewards as you progress through the event's permanent tab, sometimes at random, through the main story and journey quests, side stories, exploration including Breezy Plains, silver badges, a gather task for collecting items around the world, first clears of Alpha boss battles, fighting Irisalis at the Faded Rainbow, and Branch Nurturing. In Branch Nurturing you infuse Lumin Amber to level up the Branch Nurture tree, which awards three petals for each Branch Nurture level of the main branch. The other picture has most petals coming from the stamp shop and event shop rather than permanent sources.
Whichever turns out to be true, the Faded Rainbow is the part you control on a schedule. The permanent sources wait for you. This one does not.

Where to start
Do both Faded Rainbow clears every reset, as early as you can, and claim the petals right away. Treat it as fixed weekly income on top of the Stamp Shop and your permanent progress, not as something to catch up on later.
