The short version

  1. Sparkling Aniimo come in 12 styles: ten common colour types (I to X) plus two rare ones, Dazzling and Shadow.
  2. Counting the basic form, a Prismana Aniimo has 13 possible looks: the plain Prismana form, the ten common Sparkling types, Dazzling and Shadow.
  3. A Sparkling Sigil or sparkling pigment gives a 99% chance of a common style and a 0.5% chance each of Dazzling or Shadow.
  4. The ten common types make up 99% of Sparkling rolls. Dazzling and Shadow are the rarest looks in the game.
  5. The glowing sparkling potential aura is not the same thing as the Sparkling trait, so an Aniimo can be Sparkling without showing it.

Sparkling is Aniimo's version of shiny. A Sparkling Aniimo doesn't just get a new colour. It gets one of several styles, and two of those styles are much rarer than the others. If you collect them, the colour is only half of it. The style is the part worth chasing.

This guide covers how many styles there are, how they split into common and rare, the odds of the rare ones, and how Pigment and Sparkling Sigils let you roll a style again. How to use Sparkling Cubes and which eggs to hatch have their own guides on this site. They only come up here where they affect the odds.

How to tell a Sparkling Aniimo from a normal one

A Sparkling Aniimo looks different from its regular form. It gets an alternate skin colour palette and shimmering effects: diamond, pearlescent and particle effects, depending on the style. Expect distinct colouring, a visible glowing aura, and rainbow or extra particle effects.

The icon marks it too. Sparkling (shiny) Aniimo get a distinct icon with a rainbow border and animated sparkles, so you can spot one in a list without opening it.

One thing catches out new players. The sparkling potential aura is a separate marker from the Sparkling trait. An Aniimo can be Sparkling and show no aura, so judge by the icon and the creature itself, not by the glow alone.

The 12 Sparkling styles: ten common, two rare

There are 12 sparkle styles for Sparkling Aniimo. Ten are standard colour types, numbered I to X (you'll also see them called Types 1 to 10). The other two are rare variants: Dazzling and Shadow.

Prismana Aniimo are where this matters most, and it's the usual answer to "sparkling vs Prismana". Prismana Aniimo already come in randomised colours. With the sparkling modifier, a Prismana can also roll any of the ten Sparkling colour types. Add the basic Prismana form and you get a sparkle tier of 13 variants: the plain Prismana form, ten common Sparkling Types I to X, a Dazzling Sparkling and a Shadow Sparkling. That's why you'll see Prismana described as having 13 colour variants each, and Sparkling as having 12 styles. Both numbers are right. One includes the base form and the other doesn't.

The number of Sparkling variants each individual species has, on top of its normal form, is not settled. It's given both as 10 and as 12, and every species has at least three visibly different styles. If you want to know about one specific creature, say a Sparkling Susuta or a Sparkling Ignitis, check its creature index entry in game. That's where its variants show up.

Dazzling and Shadow odds

Dazzling and Shadow are the rarest looks an Aniimo can have. The ten common colour types together make up 99% of Sparkling rolls. The special styles share roughly 1%.

How that 1% splits depends on how you roll. With a Sparkling Sigil or sparkling pigment, it's spelled out: 99% for a common style, 0.5% for Dazzling and 0.5% for Shadow. Other methods only name one rare style. Using a Gleam Cube or Sparkling Cube on a wild Aniimo gives a 1% chance of Dazzling. Hatching a Sparkling egg from Egg Heist gives a 1% chance of Shadow, with the standard common style at 99%. A shop-bought Prismana egg hatched with a Sparkling Cube has only a tiny chance of the Shadow mutation.

So plan around this: almost every Sparkling you get will be one of the ten common colours. Dazzling and Shadow come from volume and luck. No single roll makes them likely.

99%

Chance of a common sparkling style

Applying a Sparkling Sigil or sparkling pigment almost always gives one of the ten common styles, so expect many rolls before a Dazzling or Shadow appears.

Rerolling a style with Pigment and Sparkling Sigils

You don't have to keep the style you hatched or caught. Applying a Sparkling Sigil or sparkling pigment to an Aniimo rolls its sparkling style again. The odds are the same as above: 99% for a common style and 0.5% each for Dazzling or Shadow.

This is the collector's tool. If you have a Sparkling Aniimo in a colour you don't want, Pigment and Sigils give you another go at its look without hunting a new one. Just don't expect a rare style from it. A reroll almost always lands on one of the ten common types, and the two rare styles stay as rare here as anywhere else.

How to get Sparkling Aniimo in the first place

There are three routes. You can use a Gleam Cube or Sparkling Cube on a wild Aniimo. You can hatch an Egg Heist egg with a Sparkling Cube, which is the usual answer to "aniimo sparkling egg". Or you can hatch a shop-bought Prismana egg with a Sparkling Cube. Each route has its own rare-style odds, covered above. Which creatures and eggs are worth a cube is a bigger question, and the site's guides on Sparkling Cubes and on egg types cover it properly.

Tracking your collection in the Animolog

The in-game creature index is where you check a species' Sparkling variants. There's a catch for completionists: Sparkling forms you haven't obtained are temporarily hidden from preview in the Animolog. You can't always browse a style before you own it. That's one more reason the variant count per species is still unsettled, and why your own index is the best record of what you have and what you're missing.

Where to start

Sparkling Aniimo have 12 styles: ten common colours and two rare ones, Dazzling and Shadow. Use cubes and eggs to get Sparkling Aniimo. Use Pigment or a Sparkling Sigil to reroll a colour you don't like, and expect 0.5% odds on each rare style. Look for the icon, not the aura, and use the Animolog to see what your collection is missing.
