The Warrior quest: Inferlupa's three day questline steps
Start the Inferlupa quest at night in Beast Fang Ridge while twined with the Emberpup line, then wait through two daily resets. The quest is only half the cost.
The short version
- The Warrior is the Journey quest you must complete to unlock Inferlupa's evolution from Flameruff.
- To start the questline in Beast Fang Ridge, set the time to night and be transformed into the same Aniimo species.
- You must be twined with Emberpup or another Aniimo from its evolution family for The Warrior to work.
- The quest is gated by real time. You wait for the next daily server reset twice, so it takes three real-world days.
- Finishing The Warrior does not evolve Flameruff by itself. You also need six farmable Unbroken Flameruff Spirits, and Flux Crystals cannot replace them.
If you're searching for the Inferlupa quest, you want The Warrior. It's a Journey quest, and you need to complete it to unlock Inferlupa's evolution. You can't rush it. The stages unlock at daily server resets, so the whole thing takes three real-world days whatever you do.
This page covers the questline itself: how to start it, what it asks of you each day and what you still need once it's done. If you want Inferlupa's kit or the rest of its evolution, the main Inferlupa article covers those.
How to start the Inferlupa quest in Beast Fang Ridge
The questline starts in Beast Fang Ridge, and there are two conditions. First, set the time to night. Second, be transformed into the same Aniimo species. If you turn up at the wrong time of day, or in the wrong form, it won't begin.
The Warrior also requires you to be twined with Emberpup or another Aniimo from its evolution family. Sort out your twining before you travel, so you don't walk all the way there only to find you can't start.

The Warrior quest steps, day by day

Once it's running, the quest has a short task list padded out by waiting. The main step is collecting the old Inferlupa's Spirit Dust. After that, you speak to Inferlupa again.
The waiting is what takes the time. You have to wait for the next real-time day, meaning the daily server reset, twice. One of those gaps is a 24-hour wait before the quest continues. Each mission stage unlocks at a reset, so playing harder on day one won't move anything forward. Check in after each reset, do whatever stage has opened, and leave it alone in between. Expect three real-world days from start to finish.
Why finishing The Warrior is not enough

This is where people get caught out. Completing The Warrior unlocks Inferlupa's evolution, but it doesn't evolve anything. Inferlupa is one branch of Flameruff's split evolution in the Emberpup line, and turning Flameruff into Inferlupa also needs six Unbroken Flameruff Spirits. They're farmable, and Flux Crystals cannot stand in for them. You can farm them while you wait for the resets, so you're ready to evolve when the quest ends rather than starting the grind then.
How you get Inferlupa isn't completely settled in the game, either. Besides the evolution route, it is also listed as the reward of a side quest that starts at the top of Thousand Fang Ridge and ends in a battle on the third day. Either way the shape is the same: a multi-day quest with a payoff at the end. Make sure you know which reward you're working towards.

Where to start
Get twined with the Emberpup line, set the time to night and start The Warrior in Beast Fang Ridge. Then farm your six Unbroken Flameruff Spirits while the daily resets tick over, so Flameruff is ready to evolve once the quest is done.
