How Irisalis transmog works: slots, presets and rarity
Locking one slot doubles every reroll after it, history keeps your last 10 rolls, and only the Iris line can transmog at all. This is how to roll without wasting Dreamshadow.

The short version
- Only the Iris line, Irisalis included, can be transmogrified, and capturing Irisalis is what unlocks the system.
- Transmog rerolls five areas of appearance: color, wings, headgear, body and sparkle. Every part you leave unlocked changes on each roll.
- Locking one slot doubles the cost of each reroll after it, to two Radiant Dream Shadows, and with three slots unlocked you can lock at most two.
- Radiant Dreamshadow is the paid currency, sold in packs bought with Lumin Crystals. Glimmering Driftshadow is the free one, sold in the Walking with Irisalis event store for two Irisalis Petals each.
- Save any roll you like as a preset before rolling again. History keeps up to 10 previous rolls, but the number of preset slots is not settled.
Aniimo Irisalis comes with something no other creature has: its own transmog system. Once you capture Irisalis you can reroll how it looks, part by part, and keep the results you like. The Iris line, Irisalis included, is the only Aniimo that can be transmogrified.
The system runs on two currencies, one paid and one free, and the rules for locking parts make a real difference to how fast you spend them. This guide covers where to find transmog, how rolls and rarity work, what locking costs, and how presets and roll history let you go back to a look you liked. How to get Irisalis in the first place has its own guide on this site.
Where to find transmog and what it changes
Capturing Irisalis unlocks the transmog customization system. To open it, go to the Aniimo's information tab, the top-right tab of its inventory screen. Irisalis Prismana also has a transmog option on its own screen.
Transmog can change five areas of an Aniimo's appearance: color, wings, headgear, body and sparkle. Changing an Aniimo's appearance consumes an item, either appearance stones or an invitation item, so every roll has a price.
Rolling, rarity grades and locking parts
Each result comes in a rarity grade. Blue and purple are the lower grades, and the top grade is gold, also called yellow or legendary. A roll is a pull across all five parts, which is why the system behaves like an appearance gacha.
With no locks, every component changes on each roll. That is fine early on, while you are still looking for anything worth keeping. Once you land a part you want, you can lock it so it stays fixed on the next reroll.
The catch is the cost. Locking one slot doubles the cost of each reroll after it, to two Radiant Dream Shadows. Locks are also limited: with three slots unlocked, you can lock at most two at once. So you cannot freeze everything but one part and grind that last piece cheaply. Lock only what you genuinely want to keep, because each lock makes every following roll more expensive.

Radiant Dreamshadow and Glimmering Driftshadow
Transmog uses two appearance materials, a yellow one and a purple one.
Radiant Dreamshadow is the yellow one. It is a real-money premium currency used to transmogrify and change the appearance of legendary Aniimo such as Irisalis. Radiant Dream Shadows are sold in store packs bought with Lumin Crystals; the difference between Lumin Crystals and Glimmer has its own article.
Glimmering Driftshadow, also listed as Shimmering Driftshadow, is the free-to-play counterpart. You get it from the Walking with Irisalis Legendary Journey event, where the event store sells it for two Irisalis Petals each. If you are not paying, that event store is your transmog budget.
Radiant Dreamshadow
- Real-money premium currency
- Sold in store packs bought with Lumin Crystals
- Used to transmogrify legendary Aniimo such as Irisalis
Glimmering Driftshadow
- Free-to-play transmog currency
- Sold in the Walking with Irisalis Legendary Journey event store
- Costs two Irisalis Petals each
Presets and roll history
You can save a Transmogrify result as a preset before rolling again. Do it every time a roll is close to what you want, because the next roll will replace it.
Floral Glow is the default preset and is provided automatically, so you always have a look to fall back on. How many custom presets you get is not settled yet. It is given as 10, as four, and as three custom presets, the last described as up from two. Treat the slots as scarce until you can see the count in your own game.
There is a second safety net. Transmogrify history keeps up to 10 previous rolls, so a result you rolled past is not gone the moment you roll again. Anything older than that is lost unless you saved it as a preset.
Irisalis Prismana and the White Iris variant
The White Iris, or Iris Prismana, variant is awarded for completing specific journey essences or collecting legendary perfumes. Getting it involves a hidden Prismana Iris questline, and that questline needs side quests outside the A Fragrant Journey quest line to be completed first. Following the main Irisalis quests alone will not get you there.
You do not have to pay for it. The Forest of the Butterfly Dreams event, including part of the Irisalis Prismana transmog, can be completed without spending real money.
Where to start
Spend Glimmering Driftshadow from the Walking with Irisalis event store first. Roll with no locks until a part is worth keeping, then lock it, remembering that each lock doubles the cost of every roll after it and you can never lock all three slots. Save good results as presets right away, and use the 10-roll history to get back anything you skipped by mistake.
