Sparkling Irisalis: Departure pod cost and petal spending
The Departure pod costs 49 Iris Petals, never fails, and guarantees a Sparkling Irisalis with perfect innate potential. Here is the order to spend petals in.

The short version
- Crafting the Windchase Departure Anapod (Wind Chaser's Departure, or Departure of the Wind) costs 49 Iris Petals.
- An Aniimo caught with the Departure pod is guaranteed to be Sparkling and to have perfect innate potential, and the catch itself always succeeds.
- Craft the Irisalis Aniipod first, then Wind Chaser's Departure; both are made from the event menu with Iris Petals.
- Do not spend petals in the Legendary Journey event shop early, because some items there, such as Glimmering Driftshadow, need the Legendary Aniipod crafted before you can buy them.
- Extra Irisalis Prismana Petals cost 50 Windborne Stamps each in the Stamp Shop on a weekly rotation, but the weekly quantity is not settled.
Irisalis is the legendary at the centre of the Forest of the Butterfly Dreams event, and the way you catch it decides what you end up with. A standard catch gets you Irisalis. A catch with Wind Chaser's Departure gets you a Sparkling Irisalis with perfect innate potential, every time.
That pod is paid for in Iris Petals, the same petals the event shop wants from you. Spend them in the wrong order and you can lock yourself out of shop items or leave yourself short of the pod. This page covers what Departure of the Wind costs, what it guarantees, how the Irisalis variants look, and where your petals should go first.
Departure of the Wind: 49 petals for a guaranteed Sparkling
The Windchase Departure Anapod goes by a few names in the game: Wind Chaser's Departure, Departure of the Wind, and the Windchase Departure Anapod. They are all the same premium legendary Anipod, and crafting it takes 49 Iris Petals.
What you get for that is the strongest version of the catch. Special crafted pods always succeed, so using the Departure pod on the legendary Iris Aalis encounter is not a gamble. On top of that, Aniimo caught with it carry exclusive seasonal perks: they are guaranteed to appear in Sparkling form and to have perfect innate potential. If you searched whether Sparkling Aniimo are perfect, this is the case where the answer is yes, because the pod guarantees both.
The Sparkling appearance here is season-exclusive and legendary, and it adds a unique background to the Aniimo's information tab. It shows wherever you look at the creature's details, not just in the field.

Iris Petals to craft Departure of the Wind
How to get Irisalis: the crafting order
Irisalis Petals (also called Iris Petals) are crafted from the event menu into legendary Aniipods, and there are two of them in sequence. First comes the Irisalis Aniipod, which you may also see written as Iris Solis and which shows up as an Irisalis cube. That one summons and captures Irisalis. Then, with more petals, you craft Wind Chaser's Departure.
The general rules for legendary catches are covered in our guide to catching legendary Aniimo. For Irisalis specifically, the thing to remember is that the Departure pod comes second, so your petal budget has to cover the first pod and then the 49 for Departure.
Why petals should not go to the event shop first
Iris Petals are also a currency in the Legendary Journey event shop, which is where most players lose them. The shop is right there, the petals are in your pocket, and the pod is a long way off.
The catch is that the shop is gated behind the pod. Crafting the Legendary Aniipod is required before some event store items can be purchased, Glimmering Driftshadow among them. If you spend petals in the shop beforehand, you are spending the currency you need to unlock the very items you were shopping for. Craft first, shop after.
The free currency, Glimmer, will not fill the gap. Event customizations bought with Glimmer are limited to the first few options, such as colour, wings and headwear. Anything past those is not a Glimmer purchase.
Getting more Irisalis Prismana Petals
If you come up short, the event's Stamp Shop sells Irisalis Prismana Petals for 50 Windborne Stamps each on a weekly rotation. The option is not clearly labelled, so look carefully rather than assuming it is missing.
How many you can buy each week is not settled. It is given as up to four petals or feathers per week, as up to 50 petals per week, and as random. Treat the Stamp Shop as a top-up, not a plan.
None of this needs real money. The Forest of the Butterfly Dreams event, including part of the Irisalis Prismana transmog, can be completed without spending any.
Irisalis Sparkling variants
The standard Irisalis is pink and purple. Its Sparkling appearance variants sit alongside that look, and there are several: a blue cosmic version, a dark red one, a gold one, and an orange-red fire-themed one.
That range is part of why the Departure pod matters. A guaranteed Sparkling catch means one of these looks rather than the standard pink and purple, along with the information tab background that comes with the season-exclusive legendary Sparkling appearance.
Where to start
Do not spend Iris Petals in the Legendary Journey shop until you have crafted the Irisalis Aniipod. After that, save up the 49 for Wind Chaser's Departure, because it is the only pod that guarantees a Sparkling Irisalis with perfect innate potential. Shop with whatever is left once both pods are crafted, and use the Stamp Shop to top up if you fall short.
