How to raise catch chance: stuns, sleep and Tubster

Tubster farming holds catches at roughly 90% or higher, even with the cheapest Anipods. Stuns, sleep, Branch upgrades and Tumbler gather events push it further.

The short version

  1. The Tubster farming method gives a catch rate of roughly 90% or higher, even when you throw the cheapest Anipods.
  2. Upgrading a regional Branch increases capture rates for Aniimo, so it keeps paying off on every throw after that.
  3. A pod thrown at a stunned Aniimo has a significantly higher capture chance, so a stun window is the moment to throw.
  4. Sleeping Aniimo are much easier to catch, but it is not settled whether a sleeping target is a guaranteed catch.
  5. Tumbler Oni Pods reach a 6x multiplier during gather events, and a Tumbler Anipod can hold up to 10 clustered Aniimo in one use during group events.

Every pod has a base catch rate, and most of the time that is the number you live with. Aniimo rates can move, though. A handful of situations push the odds well above what the pod alone gives you, and knowing them saves pods and saves time.

Two of them come from the world around you: upgrading your regional Branch, and the Tubster farming method. Two come from the target's state: a stun or sleep. The last comes from the pod itself, with Tumbler Pods doing their best work during gather and group events.

Tubster farming and Branch upgrades

If you only remember one thing from this page, make it Tubster. The Tubster farming method gives a catch rate of roughly 90% or higher, and it does that even with the cheapest Anipods. That is the useful part. You are not spending premium pods to get premium odds, so the method is about as cheap as reliable catching gets.

The other permanent lever is your regional Branch. Upgrading it increases the capture rate for Aniimo. Unlike a stun or a sleeping target, this is not a window you have to wait for. Once the upgrade is done, it is working for you, which makes it worth putting on your list early rather than treating it as an afterthought.

Stun windows and sleeping targets

Both of these are covered properly in the main guide to catching wild Aniimo, so here is the short version.

A stunned Aniimo is a much better target. Throwing a capture pod at one gives a significantly higher capture chance, so when a stun lands, that is your cue to throw rather than keep fighting.

Sleep is the bigger bonus, but it comes with a caveat. Catching a wild Aniimo while it is asleep makes the capture much easier. Whether it is a sure thing is not settled. It has been given as a certain catch with the displayed chance rising to 100%, as almost guaranteed, and as an improvement that stops short of a certain capture. Treat a sleeping target as your best shot, not as a promise, and keep a spare pod ready.

Tumbler Pods during gather and group events

Tumbler Pods have their own guide alongside wild surges, so this is only where they fit into raising your odds.

Tumbler Oni Pods offer a higher capture rate than standard pods in specific situations, and the peak is a 6x multiplier during gather events. Outside those situations, do not expect the same lift.

The Tumbler Anipod, also called a Tumbler Pod or spirit cloud, works differently. It captures multiple clustered wild Aniimo at once, holding up to 10 in a single use during group events. That is less about the odds on one creature and more about how many you take per throw, which matters when a cluster is in front of you.

Tumbler Oni Pods beat standard pods in specific situations, and gather events are where the capture rate peaks.

Where to start

For everyday catching, set up Tubster farming and upgrade your regional Branch, because both keep working without you waiting for anything. Throw during stuns and at sleeping targets when you get the chance, but keep a backup pod for sleepers. Save Tumbler Oni Pods for gather events and Tumbler Anipods for clustered group events, where their bonuses actually apply.
