Weather and night spawn locations: Luminel, Sparki, Sherro

Where thunderstorm Luminel, the Snowfield pony and basic Sparki appear, and the one rule that matters most: weather spawns show up once per storm, so plan around it.

The short version

  1. Weather-specific Aniimo spawn only once per weather event outside of nurturing, so a missed spawn means waiting for the next storm or snowfall.
  2. Rainstorm-form Luminel (also spelled Luminelle) spawns during rain or thunderstorms inside a cave on the edge of Tidal Blossom Coast.
  3. Only one thunderstorm form, Raintorll Luminel, spawns at a time, once per heavy thunderstorm cycle.
  4. The Snowfield pony form spawns during snowy weather, above Grisbow's cave.
  5. Basic-form Sparki only spawns at night and cannot be found during the day, including in Nimbus Fields.

Most Aniimo are where they are whenever you turn up. A handful are not. They need a particular weather or the dark, and if you arrive at the right place under the wrong sky you will find nothing at all.

This page covers the exact spots and conditions for the ones that catch people out: thunderstorm Luminel, the Snowfield pony, Sherro's storm form, night-only Sparki and the nightly concert. How weather forms work as a system, and how to change the time of day, each have their own guide on this site. Here the job is simply where to stand and when.

The rule that shapes every weather spawn

Weather-specific Aniimo spawn only once per weather event, such as a thunderstorm, outside of nurturing. That one line decides how you should hunt them.

It means a storm is a single chance, not a window you can farm. If someone else in the area takes the spawn, or you knock it out by accident, or you simply reach the spot after it has already appeared and gone, that storm is spent. You wait for the next one. So the useful habit is to know the location before the weather turns, and head there as soon as it does.

How to spawn Luminel (Luminelle) in a thunderstorm

Rainstorm-form Luminel, also spelled Luminelle, spawns during rain or thunderstorms. You will find it inside a cave on the edge of Tidal Blossom Coast. Rain is enough for this form, so you do not need to hold out for a full storm.

The thunderstorm form is stricter. Only one thunderstorm form, Raintorll Luminel, spawns at a time, and only once per heavy thunderstorm cycle. Ordinary rain will not do it, and a single heavy storm gives you one shot. If you are after Raintorll specifically, be at the Tidal Blossom Coast cave when the weather is at its worst, not when it starts to drizzle.

Rainstorm form Luminel spawns during rain or thunderstorms inside a cave on the edge of Tidal Blossom Coast.

Sherro's thunderstorm form

Sherro
Sherro

Sherro (also written Shiro) has a Thunderstorm weather form. Like every weather-specific Aniimo, it spawns only once per weather event outside of nurturing, so a thunderstorm is the moment to go looking and each storm is one chance.

That is as far as the spawn details go here. A fixed location for storm Sherro, and anything about a Sherro egg, are not covered on this page.

The Snowfield pony above Grisbow's cave

The Snowfield pony form spawns during snowy weather, above Grisbow's cave. Note the word above: it is not inside the cave, so if you head in you will walk straight past it.

Snow counts as a weather event, which means the once per event rule applies here too. One snowfall, one pony. Get up there while the snow is still falling.

Night spawns: basic Sparki and the nightly concert

Sparki
Sparki

Basic-form Sparki only spawns at night. It cannot be found during the day anywhere, and that includes Nimbus Fields, so searching there in daylight is wasted time. If you need it now rather than later, the night-only guide on this site covers changing the time of day.

Night is also when the nightly concert happens. It spawns many catchable creatures at once, including a new Aniimo, which makes it one of the more efficient stops in the game if you are filling out your collection.

For contrast, some Aniimo are generous with where they appear. Shrubclaw has multiple spawn locations, including a cave in the Argent Strait, Cosray, and Tide Blossom Coast during the day. If one spot is empty, try another.

Where to start

Learn the spots before the weather changes, because every weather spawn is one chance per event. For Luminel, go to the cave on the edge of Tidal Blossom Coast in rain, and wait for a heavy thunderstorm if you want Raintorll. For the Snowfield pony, climb above Grisbow's cave while it snows. Save Sparki and the concert for night.
