Server Selection and Character Creation
Your server is the one choice you cannot walk back. Everything in the creator except your sex is adjustable later, and the clock on your name starts the moment you sit down.
The short version
- Three servers: America, Europe and APAC. They are region locked and characters cannot be transferred between them.
- You can keep separate characters on multiple servers at once without deleting anything.
- Character creation choices are purely cosmetic. They do not affect combat or gameplay.
- Your sex cannot be changed after creation. Appearance can, though certain later edits cost resources.
- Names are unique per server and picked after creation, so lingering in the creator can cost you a common one.
- An intro sequence sets up the world, then you pick your starter companion: Lunara or Helion.
Starting Aniimo takes a few minutes of clicking and one decision you are stuck with. Server selection is one of the initial decisions, and character creation begins immediately afterward. You play a Pathfinder, and the creator hands you a wide variety of options for your Pathfinder's face, overall appearance and starting outfit.
Most of what you touch in there is reversible. The server is not, and neither is your name once someone else takes it.

The server is the decision that sticks
There are three servers: America, Europe and APAC. They are region locked, and characters cannot be transferred between them. Pick the wrong one and there is no migration path. You start over.
That sounds harsher than it is, because you can maintain separate characters across multiple servers simultaneously without deleting the ones you already have. If friends end up scattered, you are not forced to choose. You are just forced to level twice.

What the creator actually changes
Nothing that matters in a fight. Character creation choices are purely cosmetic and do not affect combat or gameplay. There is no hidden stat buried in a jawline slider, so build the Pathfinder you want to look at and move on.
The one permanent choice in here is your character's sex, which cannot be changed after creation. Appearance can be edited after initial creation, so the face and the look are not final. The catch is that certain later appearance edits require resources to perform, which means free experimentation now is cheaper than a rethink later.
Names go fast, so do not admire your work
Character names are unique across the server. You choose yours after completing character creation, not before, which is the part that trips people up. Every minute you spend nudging cheekbones is a minute someone else spends claiming the name you had in mind.
Taking excessive time in the character creator genuinely risks losing common character names to other players. If you have a name you care about, rough out the appearance, lock the name in, and come back to the fine detail afterward. The appearance is editable. The name someone else took is not.
Lunara or Helion
An introductory sequence introduces the world before the starter choice arrives. Then comes the first major decision in Aniimo: choosing between the two starter companion options, Lunara and Helion.
It is the first thing the game asks you that is not about how you look.
