Wild habitat tracking and weather form spawns in Aniimo

Track a habitat to pin it on the map, tap an uncaught silhouette to read its exact conditions, then wait for the right weather or hour. Where the early spawns are.

The short version

  1. Tracking or selecting an Aniimo's habitat marks its spawn location on the map, so you never have to search blind.
  2. Selecting the grayed-out silhouette of an uncaught Aniimo, on the map or the collection screen, shows its specific spawn conditions.
  3. Aniimo spawns, and the forms they appear in, depend on location, weather, other environmental conditions and the time of day.
  4. Some forms appear only in specific weather such as rain or thunderstorms, and 100% completion of an area needs its special weather forms.
  5. Not everything spawns in the wild: Pawney is never catchable and comes only from evolving Helmut.

Most of the work of finding a wild Aniimo is done for you, if you know where to look. The game will mark a species' spawn location on the map and tell you the conditions it needs. What it will not do is make those conditions happen. That part is down to the clock and the sky.

Aniimo spawns shift with the dynamic day and night cycle, the weather and other natural phenomena, so the same field can hold different creatures at different times. This guide covers how to read the game's own spawn information, what actually changes a spawn, and where a handful of species turn up.

Reading spawn locations on the map

Start with the habitat. Tracking or selecting an Aniimo's habitat in the interface marks its spawn location on the map, which turns a vague hunt into a walk to a pin.

For creatures you have not caught yet, the useful part is the silhouette. An uncaught Aniimo shows as a grayed-out silhouette on the map and on the collection screen. Select it and the game displays that species' specific spawn conditions. Check this before you travel anywhere. Arriving in the right place at the wrong time of day, or under a clear sky when the creature wants rain, gets you nothing.

What changes Aniimo spawns

Location is only the first filter. Which Aniimo appear, and the forms they appear in, are influenced by location, weather, other environmental conditions and the in-game time of day. The world runs a dynamic day and night cycle, and the roster of wild Aniimo changes with it, with the weather, and with other special natural phenomena.

Weather matters most for the unusual ones. It is the factor that drives the appearance of unique Aniimo, so if a silhouette's conditions mention weather, that is the condition to plan around. The practical habit is simple: when the weather turns, go back out and look at areas you have already cleared, because they may not hold what they held an hour ago.

Weather forms and area completion

Certain Aniimo forms appear exclusively during specific weather conditions such as rain or thunderstorms. You cannot catch them on a dry day no matter how long you search.

That matters for completionists. Reaching 100% completion in an area requires capturing that zone's Prismana and special weather forms, so a zone is never truly finished until you have seen it in the right weather. Prismana have their own spawn and nurturing rules, covered in our Prismana and Sparkling Aniimo guide; here it is enough to know they count toward the same total.

Where early species spawn

Nimbi spawns in the Nimbus Fields. Flutternym is also easy to meet early: look in eastern Nimbus Fields, the starting region, near white wildflowers and tree groves. It turns up in Blitzwood and The Mistwoods as well, among several regions. Its evolution line has its own guide.

Geodeback, the earth-focused gamma evolution of Pebbling, is found early in Crystal Cave.

Magmarex takes more effort to reach. It spawns and can be captured on an island you get to through an underground cave below the Zephyrus Land Bridge fast travel point. Use the fast travel point as your landmark and head down.

Flutternym appears in eastern Nimbus Fields near white wildflowers and tree groves, and also in Blitzwood and The Mistwoods.

Aniimo you will not find in the wild

Some entries on your collection screen will never show up on a spawn pin. Pawney cannot be caught in the wild at any stage of the game. You get it by evolving Helmut, so if Pawney is the goal, catch a Helmut instead.

Events are another route. Walito (Wido) is featured in the event rotation in Bryineville starting October 5th, which is worth noting if it is still a silhouette in your collection.

Pawney never spawns in the wild at any stage of the game. You get it by evolving Helmut.

Where to start

Before you hunt anything, select its silhouette and read the conditions. Track its habitat to get the map pin, and go back to cleared zones when the weather changes. If you are chasing 100% in an area, its weather forms are usually what is missing.
