Bouldus

A stone ball that had stayed with Baleetle day and night. It gained consciousness after a rough bump, tired of being controlled, it swallowed Baleetle and could finally move by its own will.

Which egg produces Bouldus is not known yet. Named eggs lock their outcome, so one very likely does. We will not name it until we have watched one hatch.

Landing the catch

Everything below is how catching works for any Aniimo — it is not specific to Bouldus.

  1. Wear it down first. Depleting a wild Aniimo's HP and dealing break damage to its break gauge both increase capture success.
  2. Come at it from behind. Attacking an Aniimo or throwing a capture pod at it from behind grants a back attack bonus that greatly increases the catch rate.
  3. Better still, catch it asleep. Sleeping wild Aniimo can be approached and captured while they are asleep.
  4. Put a trap in its path. Traps can be set in the terrain, such as in a wild Aniimo's path, to increase the likelihood of capturing it.
  5. Throw the right tier. Aniipods come in multiple tiers, and higher tiers carry higher base capture success rates, so stronger Aniipods are recommended for difficult captures, although some specialised models such as Aniipod Track and Tumbler trade raw catch power for utility effects.
  6. Out-level it. Being a lower level than the target creature reduces catch odds.
  7. Expect to miss anyway. Aniimo displays a catch success chance when you aim an Aniipod at a wild Aniimo, and any throw below 100% can still fail after the pod shakes.

The full catching guide covers pod tiers, stealth and Alpha hunting at length.
